The community corn grinder has water!

It has been both exciting and rewarding to work with people that really do want “a hand up” not “a handout” and to have the opportunity, training and tools to help themselves.
With corn being such an important part of their daily diet, it was an excellent opportunity for us to help them get water from the hand dug water wells below, up to the community corn grinder, where everyone in the village takes their own corn to be ground for the tortillas. Water was used in the construction of the facility and is utilized daily in the grinding process.
Throughout the day, everyday, you’ll see women and children carrying the dough to their homes so that they can prepare the soft tortillas and the toasted tlayudas, which are hard … but just as tasty!
Thanks for the update!! Can’t wait to see you guys soon!
